Duplex Stainless Steel Plate Description
Duplex stainless steel has a yield strength more than twice that of ordinary austenitic stainless steel, while also possessing sufficient plasticity and toughness for forming and processing. Storage tanks or pressure vessels made with duplex stainless steel have a wall fatigue life 30-50% less than that of conventional austenitic steel, contributing to lower costs. Furthermore, it exhibits excellent resistance to localized corrosion, surpassing austenitic stainless steels with similar alloying content in terms of wear resistance, corrosion resistance, and overall corrosion resistance. Duplex stainless steel exhibits a higher energy absorption capacity than austenitic stainless steel under both dynamic and static loads, offering significant advantages for structural components in responding to emergencies such as collisions and explosions.
